hi guys!!

last week a friend told me he had a rs500 cylinder head on his 4x4 block. he said a rs500 ch is very special. till this moment i thought the rs500/2wd/4x4 heads are the same (4x4 stronger). same valve guides, the same valves diameter, etc.

so what is right? the same head as a 4x4 head or really special????

I think the RS500 head is same casting as a later 2wd 3 bolt head but may have had a little porting but a previous post a little time ago opened up a can of worms on this subject and I don't think it ever reached a conclusion.

the 500 head has bigger port sizes from the factory.

so can be flowed even bigger.

you can tell the 500 head as it has dowles on the inlet to line the 500 plenue up.

 

the port sizes are bigger, but the diameter of the valves are the same as standart. right?

how can i see if it is a real head of an rs500? is there a spacial number on it?
