Default Brackets for ST 300's on s2 calipers?

Sounds strange, does anyone make a bracket to allow an s2 caliper to be mounted on a 300m ST170 disc?

I'm toying around with ideas. I cannot afford calipers and discs in one go really, so thought i could get some discs, then xmas ish but some brembo calipers on,

Cheers

Rick i wouldnt bother. The ST170 discs arent any better imo than a quality set of S2 discs (i know ST170's are 300mm). The imo you really need st170 discs and calipers together or just save a bit more and do the job properly with AP's or Focus RS brakes

Andy, it's not about quality really. I have 280's on at the moment, nad they are warped so need replacing - caused i think by green stuff pads

The 300mm gives a longer torque arm and better heat dissapation, so even with a std caliper will be better. Black diamond discs are about 115 quid for 300mm, plus 30 quid or so for brackets would give a good setup i think

have you checked the disc for runout then Rick.

I had a set of Greens that it felt like they had warped the discs wih judder, but infact they had created tall spots on the surface of the disc, where they had hardened the surface (dark areas on the surface) I fitted a new set of mintex 1144's and let them bed in and problem went

rick speapo to steveb (formerly steve@scc) as he knows wht the st170 calipers are actually off and they ya can buy the carriers for the st170 ( remmber that brakes are 2 halfs, carrier is the bit that bolts to the caliper) and then ya get a cheep st170 brake setup

i just cant remeber what it was though, i keep meaning to look at work but cause y boss is in new york for 3 weeks dont get any time spare due to surfing the net

andy the piston part os actually a comon as much caliper, i think it might even be a scorpio with a modded carrier, remember that fords are a mean company and dont spend any cash,

ya ever seen the original ford mavericks, when they came in the dealership part of the PDI was to stick the ford stickers over the nissan badges as they never had the rights to make the panels, they came like the sticker kits for radio controlled cars

peal em back and ya find they say nissan on em

rick the brakes are made of 2 parts, the carrier and the part wioth the piston on em, ford to save costs only make a few calipers and change the carrier castings

just like the 2wd cossie brakes is a old transit 4 pot caliper with a spacer in it to fit the larger thickness disks

Andy - i think cos they at least claim to keep changing them?

Ginge - kind of getting u. When u say in 2 parts, are u refering to the small part that bolts to hub that carries one of the pads?
