my bonnet release cable has snapped on my series 2 . i have a big intercooler that sits as far fward as poss so even when i can pop the catch from inside i only have about 10mm gap beetween the cooler and the catch. thanks

 

Same happened to me, i jacked the car up a bit and reached up from underneith, think i went between the turbo and rad, u can get your fingers to the actual catch and move the leever.

you dont need to go between the I/C and rad,just go up the rad past the turbo and bingo
