i would pay £10k....but he will not sell it for that.

its not how much you want to pay its how much he will let it go for.

It's not about how much we'd pay, or even how much it's worth, it's how much would YOU pay and how much does the owner want for it.

Personally I wouldn't pay more than £19K for it, but I expect for a car like that the owner is going to want more like £20K - £22K. I'm taking it that it's a minter too.

If you can afford £20K mate then go for it. You won't find another like it! If I could afford it I'd make them an offer!

Don't let it pass you by mate...you'll regret it!

id have said around 18k mark, but if its up for 20 then a bit of haggling should knock a few hundred off at least, cant see many people wanting to pay that much so you should have the upper hand unless hes one of those that arent really bothered if it sells or not,has it been up for sale long?

I wouldnt pay any more than 15 for it but that because its "not my bag"... but the figures mentioned here seem right... As per above though, Its worth what YOU are prepared to pay... same old story, you cant simply pop down to the next ford dealer along to look at an identical example

Like Max said, i'd say £20k +

I have Nearly £25k in mine and love it to bits!

It's worth what anyone is willing to pay for it! Getting rarer now, so go for it mate!

£20k tops but if you trot mileage up it will lose value hand over fist as over 30k miles you will struggle to get £14k.

I don't think so mate.

Imperial Blue cars fetch very good money, it would have to be well over 60K for it to be anywhere near the £14K mark.

b19bal, you cant get one mint if its already had paint and panels though, thats the point here. People will pay for an original car with low miles!

personally I wouldnt want to buy it at all...

its got 18k on the clock so obviously a low miler.. so wouldnt want to drive it, to keep the miles off of it..

Defeats the whole point of having a car.. Meant to be driven

ok if you want an ornamant tho I guess

In the last two years the price for mint standard Escort Cosworths has gone up not down.

£20K today will buy you what £17K would've bought two years ago.

Every year there are less and less mint, standard, low mileage, original cars, it's simple supply and demand and a sellers market.

Buy a mint, original, standard, low mileage Escort Cosworth, don't put too many miles on it and you will never lose money on it.

I know Im not

but having been/driven in Cossies and been/driven in an Evo.. I cant see why anyone would want to spend 20k on an old ford.. Each to there own I guess

thats fair enough..but why spend 20k on something that your hardly ever going to drive?

the whole point opf RS's to me personally is all about the tunability etc.. Could understand people not wanting to drive 1950's classics etc, but a semi-sports car like an ESC Cos.. to keep it sat in the garage?? wtf?

Maybe its just me.. lol

Each to their own I suppose mate, but I do get what you are saying.

It's a bit like the concours cars at National Day, all built to be driven and driven hard but the majority of them only leave their heated garages a few times each year.

mate how many cars escos have been sold recently ?????

why is that, rsgus bought a escos as he really wanted one, he sold it within weeks, then M3 wannabe with the rear parking sensors large enought to detect wind bought a mint one, he parked it in his garage and polished it so he never lost value on it, he never done 500 miles in it and sold it as he realised he wasss stupid and all he could do was wear off the paint polishing it, he may as well valet cars on the weekend for extra cash

now dont get me wrong, i was thinking of buying a escos in a few months as i like em and tbh they vairy in price too, would be tempted as i like em but wanna convet it to rwd

but that was for a car to use and have fun with, if i wanted to buy a car for investment that will always need work when i use it i would buy a aston martion lagonda that needs work and i can swop my saph and 4k for it , when done iots worth 30k at least and its rare, cars that are used by chavs aint rare

There's no way I can answer that first question I'm afraid.

I can't explain RSGus' decisions but I'm sure they're logical...to him at least!

Good luck with the Aston mate, that would be a good investment.
