dump valve removal question

Default dump valve removal question

i want to take the forge dump valve off my saff cossie, do i need to refit the standard ford plastic one on the other side as it has been removed and bunged up. also how do i get the loudest wastegate noise?

u get a very loud noise by open filter and no dump.

make sure you blank off all the boost pipes and the vacume pipe that goes to the top of the dump valve.
If you want louder chatter then you will need a cone filter, then its pretty much a case of the more boost you run the louder the chatter, Im not suggesting you just wind your boost up mind.

i know that i have to block off where dump valve is and the vacume pipe but do i need to put the standard black plastic ford on back on , on the left hand side?? i have a large k&n and run 21psi

the amount of flutter noise that you get depends on how quickly you close the throttle and at what boost and what engine speed. if you drive like a twat and just snap the throttle shut at full boost at mid range rpm, you should get the most noise, as more air will be in the inlet going back out past the compressor

I think they were fitted from factory for the opposite reason to why you want to take it off, keeps them quite.
