As a good start (Before ripping the whole car apart) is to take out the Idle Speed Control Valve (On the throttle body) and give it a really good clean using an aerosol of Brake Cleaner, and a tooth brush. And give the plug connections a good clean at the same time.

If that don't sort it, best take it to an expert......Where you located ????

I would be checking the spark plugs before ripping anything apart, try Ford Motorcraft AGPS 071C plugs gapped to 0.6mm or 0.7mm and see if that sorts out your idle problem.

Yep, that's the one. Two screw on a retaining ring.

Comes out really easily, and you can have it out, cleaned and back in, in about thirty minutes. And of course, simple things like checking the plugs go without saying.

ESSEX : If any of the local Essex guys can drag themselves away from those Essex Birds, then they'll give you a hand I'm sure.

SMITTY....... Give the guy a hand.
