I'm still trying to work this out in my head.

The new owner took the car to Motoscope in north allerton today to be set up and have the new collins powerchip fitted.
He left the car there all day an when he went back they told him the rings were fooked.
Can they tell this without doin a compression check? What would cause this as the pistons, rings etc were all brand new when engine was built 1200miles ago.
They also said they couldnt turn the boost up as it was temprimental. What the fucks that sposed to mean?
The car has never let him or me down. He drove it there today an it was fine when he left it. They now say they'l fix it for £1100
Are they taking the piss???????????????????????

deffo sound dodgy to me, u normally find people with nice cars get charged more because they think u can afford it

motorscope is owned by kevin proctor,who has one of the fastest puma WRC rally cars in the country,he also owns a prodrive group A impreza,he has had a long line of very very fast cosworths behind him as well.
just because he doesnt have a big name in the "fast" road market doesnt mean he isnt any good.



and as he is worth more than most lottery winners due to his massive coach company he certainly wont need the money either.

probly just being over cautious as most competition experts tend to be.

 

What made him come to the conclusion of fucked rings? Hows the car now how does it run ?

 

it runs but very badly. Keeps cutting out, breather is full of white sludge, oil in engine is clean and fresh looking. Aparently its knocking and rattling now as well. had to be towed home. he is mega pissed off to say the least.
