God damn. It's good to be alive!
After 2 years of Berti making a arse of it, it's nice to be proud of the team again!

2 more games! Keep your fingers crossed people!

Miller at the double in Scots win
In-form striker Kenny Miller fired Scotland back into the hunt for a World Cup play-off place with an opportunistic first-half double in the 2-1 win in Norway.
Walter Smith admitted anything less than a victory in the capital would end their dreams of going to Germany next summer. But the stubborn Scots closed the gap on their shell-shocked rivals - who grabbed a late Ole Martin Arst consolation - to just two points with two qualifying matches remaining.
The Wolves striker scored against the run of play with their very first decent attack before an embarrassing blunder from Andre Bergdolmo gifted him his fourth goal in three international matches before going off injured in an unforgettable first-half.
Smith signalled his intent by boldly going with James McFadden to replace injured Nigel Quashie while Steven Pressley came in to replace the suspended Christian Dailly. But it took some time for Scotland to find their feet and they rode their luck before Miller time.
Scotland were given a huge let-off when Claus Lundekvam bundled the ball into the net from a corner only for the referee to spot an infringement somewhere in the area to the shock of the celebrating host nation.
Scotland snatched the lead in the 21st minute with their first purposeful foray forward. McFadden beat Jan Gunnar Solli in the air at the back post to nod Ferguson's cross into the path of Miller. The Wolves frontman had to stretch but he got the deftest of touches to flick the ball past Thomas Myhre and inside the post.
Miller was gifted his second goal of the game after a terrible mistake from Bergdolmo. Hartley's cross was going to run straight through to the goalkeeper but Bergdolmo headed the ball back into the unmarked striker, and he coolly slotted the ball past the disbelieving Myhre.
Miller had a glorious chance to score a remarkable first-half hat-trick in the 40th minute when Graham Alexander's cross came off a Norwegian head and landed at his feet but this time fortune favoured Bergdolmo and the ball cannoned off his head and went wide.
That was the former Rangers man's last contribution as he hobbled off moments later to be replaced by Neil McCann.
Arst fired a late consolation for Norway from Lundekvam's knock-down but it was too little to late to silence the rejoicing Tartan Army.

In fact most goal scorers in international football hail from the premiership which is a great shame, doesnt give our up and coming talent any chance.
While im moaning, what a complete and utter disgrace England are, playing against a team that is division 2 football at its best, not taking anything away from the team, they did a great job but the crowd won it IMHO.
Sack Sven, i'd rather have Stuart Pearce managing, someone with guts, determination, bottle and passion, not a bald headed swede who sits on the bench counting his ladies and wealth, i want to see a manager shout, show his anger, not, oh well, sorry, what sort of crap is that !! Owen Hargreaves should be shot point blank, Lampard and Gerrard had the ball flung over their heads all night, at least Joe Cole showed some spirit, someone who can actually take the ball round another player as that is severly lacking in football nowadays, god im so angry, lol.
As for Scotland, good win, congrats, but i wouldnt be booking a hotel in Germany just yet.

Scotland won a game and might still get to the World Cup.
England crashed to an unexpected defeat against Northern Ireland.
Carlsberg don't make Wednesdays, but if they made last nights, they would probably make the best Wednesdays in the world!
(I nicked this from Grant Stott on Forth 1 this morning!!!!)

Copied and pasted from a post I made on another forum after the game:
We'll be coming, We'll be coming, We'll be coming down the road, When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army boys, We'll be coming down the road!!!
Great performance from the lads, little bit nervy towards the end but the norwiegans were putting a lot of pressure on at that point. Its great to be able to watch a Scotland game without having your head in your hands. Its been a long time since I've been able to do that. What can I say about Kenny Miller? An absolutely fantastic game. Taking a volley like that after being kneed in the back and subsequently being subbed is what I call commitment. We never saw anything like that under Berti. I reckon that may have been in if the defender hadn't blocked it (good job he did aswell). I think 2-1 was probably a fair result after the way both the teams played. Having said that, if qualification comes down to goal difference (as I fear it might) that goal could come back to haunt us. Looking back at the campaign, we really should be up there in second place already. I mean only drawing with Moldova, no disrespect to them, but we should've won that. Not on the performance on the night, cos we were crap, but purely on the fact we're a better side. We should've drawn with Norway at Hampden aswell. Also, if the Norwiegans hadn't scored their last minute winner on Saturaday we would be in a much better position.
Italy------8---17
Norway---8---12
Scotland--8---10
Slovenia--7---9
Belarus---8---7
Moldova--7---5
Thats the group as things stand, although Slovenia will go up to 12 points when the final whistle goas against Moldova. That doesn't matter though as we have to beat them anyway in order to stay in it, and they are still to play Italy away from home, and I very much doubt that they'll win that. So if we do what we need to do and barring any miracles against Italy, then we'll finish above them anyway. We also need to beat Belarus at Hampden and assuming that we manage that then we'll be on 16 points. So really its down to what Norway manage to do in their 2 matches at home against Moldova and away to Belarus. Hopefully, they'll only draw with Belarus and I'm assuming they'll beat the Moldovans. This leaves them on 16 points aswell. I'm assuming it goes on goal difference then and not anything like matches played against each other or silly things like that? If so we are currently on 0 gd with Norway on 3. So unless we score a lot of goals and Norway don't score many then it looks like its gonna be very hard to get in. But, it wouldn't be Scotland if we didn't do it the hard way.
On a lighter note, Northern Ireland have just beaten England (legends, love the Irish) leaving them trailing Poland by 5 points How good would it be if we got them in the play-offs?

If Scotland and Norway are on the same points it goes on the results from the 2 games between the sides...... If they were equal results it goes on GD over the whole campaign. In which case we're fuckerd
Aye, so we lost 1-0 at hampden and won 2-1 in norway, so agg is 2-2, do away goals count? otherwise they're are currently 3 better than us on goal difference
On another note. My mate, who is in the supporters club and therefore can get unlimited tickets before they go on general sale, has just ordered 20 tickets for the belarus game. Should be fun, we're going to have to book a whole bus to ourselves.

It'll be like our trip to T In The Park...we took 160 cans of Carling, 6 litres of cider, 3 litres of vodka & a 70cl of southern comfort. We drank it all bar 5 cans of carling that were left behind. And that was only between 6 of us, and only at night and in the morning because you courdn't take booze into the arena. Suffice to say, it was the best weekend of my life
