Bugger . Ta for correcting me! Any idea what the differences are? Shape of tail lights or location of petrol cap type stuff?

Some people on this site are too damn clever for their own good

Howdy folks - cheers for the questions, comments and advice!

Mileage is 95000 (can't remember exact no.) Service history is stamped up to 68000, then has been done by myself and previous owner after that as it's out of any Ford warranty now! It runs sweet as a nut - as can be shown / proven on any test drives.

I have a wodge of receipts for the car, and all MOTs dating back to 1996 when it was on 25000.

Forgot to mention a few other GOOD bits:

K & N 57i induction kit, new Rad fitted a few months ago as the old one leaked, 4 new wheel bearings fitted when the new wheels went on (in the last year or less) and the gearbox has has all the bearings replaced by myself again in the last year.

I'd recommend coming to look at it in the metal - I don't think you'll find a better RS2000 for the money I'm after.

Cheers for the interest

How come it's got no bulges in the bonnet and Mk6 rear tail lights? Is that something to do with this Mk5 a or b thing? lol

Would you take a Part Ex at all?

Hi Dan,

I'm afraid I can't do part exs - selling the car for funds and space!

Ref the bulges and lights - I have no idea, it's how it came to me, and from reading what the others wrote I guess it must be to do with the 'facelift' Mk5a or b thingy!

Do you fancy taking a look at it? It's a nice car, and I think the price compares favourably to RS2000s on Autotrader. See loads with 100k+ mileages for the same or more.

Cheers
Simon

Due to being useless I've missed out the following other details:

Lowered 35 mm on Eibach springs (with standard dampers)
7 month old Standard exhaust fitted
6 months tax, MOT till feb
Have now been informed by RS2000 website that it is a MK5a as original post!

Thanks for the positive comments guys

Cheers

I'm getting very confused as to what it really is, but it's the car in the pics - a nice tidy example of an RS2000 with sensible mods!

Cheers

right just to tidy this up for ya mate, this is the mark 5B, the visual differences are there is no bonnet bulges as they only came on the mark 5A, the rear lights are the same shape as the mark 6, they have a grill built into the bonnet unlike the mark5A which had a seperate grill... the side skirts are different, the rear bumpers different..and a few other silly things that dont matter, i'll try get a pick of the mark 5A up latter hope this helps with the sale mate

the white on is a MK5

the grey one is a MK5a/b/.5 or facelift

I do call it mk5b myself and i've had a couple, but it's like house/flat numbers. You get for example 61 and 61a

not 61a and 61b, lol, so people call it a 5a, the orginal mk5 definitely isnt a 5a, but the facelift could be termed an A or a B. Confusing, eh? lol

anyway, that grey one for sale is stunning, love it

Thanks for the kind comments folks and the sensible way the differences are being discussed! Makes a change for Passionford.

Now if anyone asks me what model it is I'll send them here and let them make up their own mind!!

Cheers folks,
Simon
