i have just bought a cossie carpet thinking it was out of an escort matched it up to the other and noticed a difference.
difference being (looking towards the back) - in between the rear seat bracket holes there is a 2" squarish block of carpet sticking outwards, left of the tunnel slightly is this in your saph cos? got a picture now

Im not sure where you mean.
This is between the brackets for the REAR seat and not the brackets at the rear of the front seats - yes?
So we are talking behind the rear seat passengers legs? In that case there is no flap of carpet on my '92 saph.
