4x4 v 2WD exhaust manifold
Hi All,
I was impressed with my friends 4x4 it picks up very quickly from low rpm due no doubt to a shorter exhaust manifold than 2WD therefore reducing lag. I realise that perhaps the 4x4 manifold would not ultimately flow as well as 2WD and also they do tend to crack but would this manifold work well on a stage 3 2WD engine in regards to a more responsive pick up?

Big power engines do tend to use the 2wd manifold due to its ability to be able to flow that much more.... but mildly laggier.
but not that much of a noticable difference on a 330bhp spec engine!

the exhaust system can make a much bigger difference to the way that the turbo 'picks up' than the manifold.
you should also consider that 4x4 had a different turbo to 2wd that was designed to 'pick up' quicker
