Need A Bit Of Advice
hello ppl. havent been on here for a while as i had a crazy but brief spell away from our beloved blue oval to have a play with a couple of BMWs. what a mistake. now the problem a have is im looking for another cossie. my mate has offered me his 2wd flint grey F-plate saph cossie and i need some advice. this car is burning oil almost as quickly as petrol. im not planning on putting whatever cossie i end up buying straight on the road as i wanna rebuild it and hike the power up. im not to bothered about the considerable oil consumption as im planning on completely stripping and overhauling the entire engine anyway. i just need a bit of a pointer on where the oil is being burned. when the engine is first started in the morning it fills the road with smoke. to me that suggests its major valve stem wear as the oil is quite clearly havin the chance to run down into the cylinders overnight. however, when driving along, is i let the car coast on over-run for a short while then nail the throttle it plumes out blue smoke. am i right in believing this now sounds like the turbo is knackered as thats what i was thinking until my mate showed me a reciept for a brand new turbo only 1000 miles ago. the turbo is quite clearly new upon inspection hence the reason im finding it hard to believe that its the turbo which is at fault. any help would be much appreciated
