For the price of a second hand engine, you might as well stick the 2.0 litre lump in it

well i know a guy who has a Ford 1.9 Zetec Engine Block and Pistons,
the block is 1.9 with forge piston, the conrod are design with floating gudgen pins, what ever that means , and there is no piston ring and you will need a new of mains and big end bearing, does this sound ok? also are the prices on new piston rings expensive?????
thanks

ok guys need some advice here,

after phoning around asking mates mates etc,

i have 2 choices, which would u say is the best to go for guys for turboing my zetec,

option 1:

Ford 1.9 Zetec Engine Block and Pistons,
block is 1.9 with forge piston, the conrod are design with floating gudgen pins,
the pistons need new rings and it also needs a new mains and big end bearing.

option 2:

2 litre zetec bottom end, complete with 1.8 sump,
set of used mahle forged pistons from a vauxhall xe, apparently told they will make it low comp, however i was told needs will need reboring to suit to give around 2050cc.

what do u think guys is best option?
thanks

didnt know they made a 1.9 zetec(or do you mean 1856cc,1.8) personally id go for the 2.0 ditch the injection and stick it on throttle bodys, add some uprated cams,a nice 4-2-1 manifold and system and a decent management and chip and bobs ya uncle you should be knocking on the door of 180bhp plus! and the 2.0 has more grunt!!!

You don't want to go low comp with an NA engine!!

As RS nutter said, the low compression engine will be best suited to turbocharging so unless you're going that route, don't bother with it
