Can this be repaired?
Can my check-strap be fixed on my S2 Cabriolet?!?! It appears that it has been repaired badly before and this is the reason it has rusted so much!

It's the drivers side and in comparison there is nothing wrong with the near-side at all! I really need some advice as to how it could be repaired. Could the rust area be removed and a panel welded in place? Or am I looking at having to replace the whole of the A-Pillar panel on this side?
Would also be grateful if anyone knows someone in the N.london area who would undertake this task. It's the only bit of rust on the whole car
and is beginning to get on my nerves!!!!

Your local body shop should be able to sort it out no problems mate.
Expect it to be a couple of hundred pounds though coz it needs welding and spraying.
Strip as much of the trim off before taking it for a quote.
I think you can still buy patent parts for that area so should be fairly easy.
