I split with my g/f and had to sell the RS as I didn't want to have to use it as my daily driver and the extra mortgage meant i couldnt afford to run two cars

 

I'm with ya there matey. One of the nails in my relationship coffin was when I told her my R&D gearbox was Ł500 (and she thought that was a lot) The fooookin roof had a dent in it when she happened to see my credit card statement and it was really Ł5,500.

Another one was popping to Stu's for half a day to get my map looked at and I ended up staying for 5 days.

It wasn't all one sided though, I kept her in 4 bed detached's, brand new cars and more "Jimmy Choo's" than she could shake her 20 trillion DKNY frocks at.

Being single rocks though in my opinion, I had totally forgot what I had been missing.

 

I'm with littleracer.. We're not all bad..

If my otherhalf showed half as much interest in cars as I do, i'd be chuffed.. But he doesn't.. He appreciates them, but just wants a normal car that works.. I can kinda see his point, but I couldn't live without my turbo.. (que suicide post.. )

Well all i can say is my missus is the bollox!!

She used to go to all the car shows etc, she could probably show men up on her knowlegde of the Turbo'd CVH lump, and is now learning the in's/out's of Audi's 1.8T engine(Which is WELL underrated!!)

Any time we have financial issues and bring up selling the fez, she'd always say we'd find another route!!

Oh don't get me wrong she does moan and bitch at me like the rest of the women on this earth, but it was never about the car!!

Soz but I did lol @ that! But hey, what with the DKNY, Choos and new cars it seems to be certainly more her loss than yours!

And Yum, it just means you can spend more on the car And if you want a girl who's into cars just head to Saufend on a Saturday night... there's tons of them there.. but most will probably be after your wallet too

 

it can be a right pain in the arse if your mrs isn't into the same interest as you


i'm lucky on the fact she is into cars as much as me, and doesn't get bored when at cars shows car talk is the main conversation

My missus is constantly going on at me about how much time I spend on the car at weekend etc, I haven't changed yet and I find it difficult to believe that I will do either.

 

My girlfriend is superb!

Plus, I'd hate it if she shared my passion for cars........... I like to have something that's just my own.

Plus she hates the cossie, and think her 1.1. Pug 106 is far superior as it doesn't keep breaking down

As for woman not understanding about cars etc,,,,well as the other ladys on here have said tis not always the way!!

My last ex,,,,well was always on my case,,,if I washed the car,,,,hoovered the car,,,,worked on the car,,,anything to do with my car,,,,he fooking moaned like a bitch Would even cause arguments about it! Then again if he wanted to go out playing shooting pidgeons with his air rifle,,,,ooohhh that was just fine,,,whilst I stayed at home of course,,,,"apparently woman don't do that sort or thing", in all honesty though,,,,shooting pidgeons aint my thing!

I'm rid of him now,,,can do what I want when I want,,,,with whom I want and NO ONE can tell me what to do or have a go at me about anything,,,,its fooking FANTASTIC!!
