I have been working on the underside of my rs for 2 weeks now i have removed all the rest and dirt I have put 4 coats of primer on it and 3 coats of white paint... Do u think i need to waxoly this as well for extra protection??

No, don't waxoyl over the paint, otherwise whats the point of painting it? You may as well have cleaned it up and waxoyled it and left it......

But then imo waxoyl hides problems and can be worse in a way. It all boils down to what you use the car for and how often, take mine. I cleaned my underside, primed, stonechiped and painted and that's it.

I use the car as my second car, only in the summer months and dont drive it in the wet (if I can help it) so I don't for see a problem.... and its been fine for a fair few months now

 

Thanks.. When I get it back on the road i will only use it in the dry and the summer but i think i have miss this year driving I am hoping we get an indian summer I have got about 5 week work left.

 

 

I am gonna post some pic's soon... it a mega job restoring these cars, taking the engine out this bank hol weekend so i can rebuild it.. then it going to get resprayed in 2 weeks time I cannt wait any longer I only drove the car 100 miles after picking it up then started taking it apart.

I'm starting my front end this winter....

 

Waxoyl in the chassis rails and all the box sections sills etc ,but as Adam said why spend all the time painting it if you are to cover it in waxoyl

 

As above thats what i ment 'NOT' all over the nice new paint
