Default Clutch ratchet question

Would a knackered clutch ratchet cause a clutch to slip?
Mine has started to click when the pedal is pressed and the clutch only slips when i boot it on the motorway seems fine all other times

no mate that would be the clutch it self its probably adjusting itself to the maximum it can on the biting point which means, that its down to the rivets on the pressure plate, time for a new one then! ,also just check your cable aswell mate to see if its not strectched!
