Default s2 no compression

allo guys a mate of mine has been doing a bit resto on his s2 this included a kent cam and stage 1 head plus abasic strip down on the engine , now he has put it back together and has no compression, i poped over and checked the timing and put a compression test on 1 and 2 pistons and nothing the needle didnt even move,

i was asking him which way he done it and it seems that he has done it ok . However he did say the head was moving a bit when he put it on it didnt slot in , so i checked his old head and the dowels which line the head up are still in there and he said there isnt any in the new head,

So just thinking if its not 100% lined up would this cause no compression ?

or ???

thanks for any help

Was the head changed for a new item. I would almost put money on the fact that he forgot to transfer the shims that sit underneath the rockers across. When this are forgotten it the rockers will keep the valves open and cause no compression.

It's what Rachel did on her 2i and it took me an age to suss it out
