big brake kits??
i really want a big brake conversion, wilwood do a 283mm kit £460 but i got to buy pads hoses and fluid, i was quoted a 4x4 cossy conversion for £520 everything in apart from hoses, or do i just get a bracket conversion and keep my calipers just run bigger disks? Real confused
? Whats the best alround, sensibly priced brake conversion for a s2?
mate look on e-bay or in newspapers, the loot.......etc you will pick up a pair of cossy calipers from a saff 4x4 for around 80-100 quid the discs you can get from any local motor parts store 80-100 pair ,(make sure their 2wd ones) and 4x4 pads too (40)whole lot should cost around 300 tops! job done! fitting is easy mate!
Don't go near Wilwood.....
What kind of power have you got, and what do you use the car for? I think you will find that a Cosworth set up all round will be fine for fast road use. It's only on the track you will need something a bit more beefy, like AP's.

Wilwood are pants, as we all found out with mine - couldn't stop a damn thing
Tony, AP's as we know are the daddy - or custom Brembo's like Christian and Phil has/had

ah, zoo motorsport, cant wait to feel the difference, at the end of the runway at santa pod i cld feel my brakes fading so bad! new fluid and braided hoses i think too! just polybushed my whole car so its handling like a dream, chuck it into any corner and it slides in no understeer at all also it corners alot quicker too you feel the wheels gripping better!! wiv me new brakes too im going to be buying some track time!!
yea its still on, i had a gander at the abs the otherday, i bled the modualtors but didnt notice ne difference, if i rip it off im guessing il av to fit another servo unit and master cylinder, theres loads of pipes coming off the abs! just bn playing around in me motor and the rear locks up wen i hit breaks mid corner, great fun sliding around backing it in to corners but a tad dangerous if i got to use my breaks in an emergency
i got 15's i hope it will fit under! wilwood 300mm fit under 15's, if it dont i will just machine a bit off the caliper but looking at the wheel theres about 30mm clearence on radius so im sure it will be fine, calipers carriers disks and pads, you av to space the carriers from the hub using washers though!
what to do about this abs? is it difficult to remove?

Brakes
Front brakes where four pot items on vented disks. Rear braking was also via disks.

ive used wilwood 4 pots , i thought they were great tbh , this was in 97 , when i had a h reg grey turbo, that was quite lively at 220 bhp , but i did have grooved disks also , i would use wilwood again based on the set i had fitted back in the day , right now i have the st brakes, and in all fairness they are a lot better than standard , but still . not the best out there

yea fits under ford 15", the pads are bedding in and my brakes just keep getting better! u actually have better control in the wet cuz u dont hav to press so hard too brake so theres no need to slam ur brakes on and definately can brake alot later!! My toyo proxies are f'n great too, never had tyres which work so well in the wet, no wheel spin at all booting in second and third and wen braking the just bite the tarmac!!
