fao tuners and ppl whon know about series 2s help needed
hello peeps
wondering if you could help me with two problems
first is engine dies when just coming off vacum
it doesnt do it all the time but quite often and its geting to me
i thought it was alternator cus it wasnt charging so changed that
then i took the dump valve it still does it
what would cause this the car doesnt hesitate and is fine when working
when it dies it lose rev counter and everything but the dash lights dont come on?
2nd problem is the front end is very low
and it bonces and crashes
these are gmax shocks and springs brand new
i could move the spring in the platform fully round when jacked up and then it locked so thought i cured it but iits still doing it
could it be anything else or does it shound shock related
i removed the bumpstops as the instructions told me to do that cud this be it
or could it be that the spring isnt located right as i can still move it slightly when jacked up
everything on the car is brand new even down to nut and bolt ive just fully restored it and it just passed its mot today
i need to sort these out bu the weekend as from monday its my main car
please help as i really likeed this car hence why i done a project on it and at the minute i want to send it down the scrappers

cars has only done 30 miles since it was built only started yesterday
dizzy looks like its a reeconed item but was on engine when i got it
car runs fine then it will just cut out sometimes when coming off vacum

just got some spare shocks and going to put the bump stops back on in a minute so hopefully this will do it, i think it will
but still need to sort out why it cuts out
it just cuts the ignition and the rev conter dies but no dash lights come on

could be the coil, also check the 2 small wires that go to it, they are stored outside the loom on the s2, along the front panel and back up the drivers side inner wheel arch, they can wear in places causing the spark to be weak sometimes, mine did this, the wire had worn on the bottom of my intercooler!!
right sorted the shocks out and it was because i had no bumpstops
but all sorteed now
will change the coil nxt to se if that does anything
because it is something to do with ignition i think due the the way the rev counter dies
and then cuts out

reason i ask is it also sems to be holding back its running a bar of boost but hasnt been set up yet
want to sort the cutting out first

Have you checked theres no air leaks from any of the pipes, breather etc? Check the dipstick is in properly and oil cap tight.
It could be the connector on the top of the Dizzy hasnt broken and is loose in the dizzy?. That is the hall effect sensor that tells the coil when to fire the spark, could be that.

right just put another coil on it will try it tomorrow
the coil i pulled off if you shake it you can here fluid in it
it starts up fine and ticks over lovly drives nice now and then
but just the cutting out and holding thats doing my tree in
hopefully all sorted now if not then its getting booked into a tuners
