Ok got a series 1 which been doing over a project ok.
what activates the fuel pump to pump.
My wiring to starter motor is knackered so i have to try start the car with the screwdriver on end of starter method.

every time i goto touch it the metering head clicks and tries to pump fuel inot the engine what actually activates the metering head to put more fuel in. must be something near the starter motor?
cut long story short car still wont start i have fuel and have spark timing is ok havent got a clue whats going wrong

 

AS the dizzy rotates it fires the fuel pump so if you take dizzy out and turn it with ign on it will run pump

 

so thats normal ok thtas good. i have spark.
timing is ok next step compression check
