i have lookied in to doing one of these and gave up with out even trying the best info i could get was to bore out the block and press in some liners allowing a decent size wall thickness once the block is bored out to 88mm or there abouts for the extra cc and with more potential for over heating as the water jackets would be tiny but surely there must be another way round it if there is i cant see it being cheap

i thought it wasnt exactly a 2.1 to start with, more a 2.0 but people just say 2.1 i think its summit like a 2048cc or summit, maybe im wrong as usual so how owuld u make it a 2.2, i was/am under the impression you ant bore it out that far? some one correct me

LOOOOOOOL...

I have also heard some bout fields motorsport had done a 2.2... but is it worth the effort and money... a proper 2.1 can also make a little RST go pretty fast...

Why do a 2.2??? Seems totally pointless to me, will make absolutely no difference in power over a 2.0 or 2.1

Only reason id ever run 2.1 is to use cheaply availible Mahle pistons, but ideally, Id be using a Std over 0.5mm oversize bore.

Capacity is pretty irrelevent on a turbo engine, especially when we are talking ~100cc difference!

PhilM,
i think it will! im not after out and out bhp! i just want more torque! mines got 350 lbs of torque at the mo just weighin up how to increase it without goin to a full zetec!
i ve always been under the assumption that increasing the capacity will intern increase bhp and torque! just dont want to keep uppin the boost! after a long conversation with ian howell he says a zvh will not make much more power over 18 psi due to the 8valve head! and not bein able to flow anymore air! thats why im lookin down other avenues! increase of ports, valves, inlet and exhaust manifolds!
Might switch to zetec!

Get a better inlet to increase the airmass, bigger throttle body

No need to go full zetec then

anyway zvh is

as i understand it the reason u go 2.1 instead of just 2.0 is the better vauxhall pistons having thicker cap head - allowing more boost - so for all the cc isnt much difference - the potential is may only be 2048cc but i know someone running 24psi on an engine gavintwopies built - that extra psi makes all the difference

Well i'm going 2.1 zetec turbo and its not going to break the bank either as i'm going to be using my 2.1 zvh bottom-end, fiesta turbo inlet, engine loom and chipped ecu, saab turbo injectors, std t3 for now soon to be t34 so should fly really and not at the cost of having to turn over HSBC and be on the run for the rest of my life either

just takes some extreme late night E-BAYING and a few lucky finds and your good to go
