in the workshop aswell! got it over on its side to strip alll the sealer off before i paint it

ah the memorys !!

took me fookin ages , heat blower and a scraper and a wire brush !! , weld some plates in the inner and outer wings for strength to stop the inners folding under large 'G's

 

How come you didn't sand blast it Kev?? Surely that would have had much better esults not to mention easier

Let me guess, scraping/grinding it off was easier you tight get

 

its going to be getting sandblasted all the sealer has to come off first cos its a nightmare to blast off

only started on this yesterday with a grinder with a wire wheel in it,, i tried the heat and wire brush method but didnt like the fumes much lol

i,m off out to do some more to it almost finished the passenger side of the floor now

 

kev you mean the tea boy did all the hard work,couldnt imagine you breaking sweat

I've done a lot with the grinder and wire wheel on my mk1, works quite well!! (Apart from when the bits of wire come off the wheel and stick in your arm!!)

stu...he did it yesterday he didnt want to come to work today so i did it my self

phil i had a couple of stabbed fingers with the wire today

should be done by eary next year gareth....i want to have the shell ready before winter so i can strip the other one and transplant all the stuff within a week or so
