No more repeats of that then eh !!

Dunno if you have been on the island yet but on that stage there is a little bridge after a right, before you get to the hairpins, looks like they are taking it out and building a road round it. Can never get enough recce done for the event as its about 300 miles from us

Hopefully no more mishaps, had enough of those on rally cars lately!

Your description I am afraid means little to me, my nav laughed worriedly after each stage as I asked 'now where are we?' only bit of island I regonised was tob.

defo need to recce this year though, when you heading over, seems we are doing same mileages in opposing directions.

The event can't change too much due to the nature of the road layouts so its similar each year yes.

Think Im on the Thursday boat before the start on Friday, but lucky as my Nav owns both pubs in Craignure so he's there all year

Well all mine needs is the box out and a quick check over/rebuild. Headgasket changing, and the new brakes fitting.

MEF's Scooby is still waiting for Quaife to come up with the parts that broke in April.
Its sat on a std road car box at the mo and has done about 4 events on it so it hasn't got much life left we guess. Quaife have promised them "next week" since about August

No ferrys booked yet Still got 1 more recce to do (during which we take up the fuel, as they can get a bit strict at rally time )

Apart from that its all systems go lol.

If your passing the Craignure Inn at anytime call in for a "brew"

What's happened with the seeding this year? been told it's based on 1st stage time from last year, should have spent less time in the ditch

Looming closer, can't wait not driven the car since taking off the trailer after last years tour.

Will MEF get a box in time?

Well I got to the acute hairpin downhill on SS1 last year mate and fuel pump packed in.

We had to coast down the hill past the cemetry and managed to pull up in the car park of the Bellachroy Pub. We stayed there for the rest of leg 1 getting p155ed lol.

Got a time for stage 1 but 1/4 of it was just rolling down the hill just so we didn't have to walk too far the pub

No problems as we get reseeded after leg 1 anyway

Quaife sent some bits last week for his box, but as usual they sent the wrong stuff. He blew the std road box on yesterdays event, so its going to be close me thinks.

Where are you ??

What happened ?? Went looking for you at the start but 149 was missing

Got another result, not spectacular but still another finish 53O/A 10 in class, driving blind for 95% of it

MEF blew the turbo on SS2

1 out of 3 ain't bad.

Quite like this one Mark... Just coming down after a small yump, but shows how narrow and tight / twisty the roads are.

(Photos courtesy of TTUSER)

Now maybe people can understand why I yawn and get bored to death going round and round on race circuits etc lol

Must also whilst im here say a massive public "THANKS" to Pf member 'david' and his mates who came up to help me, by running as chase car. Not much chasing to do, but I couldn't have finished the event without them as they had my fuel

If you need any help for Grizedale give us a shout

i think maybe i need to do mull next year ? stunning tarmac roads them, i like the 1st pic with all the sumpguard marks on the road where ya land after the yump

im just getting together a collection of tarmac rubber and rims, so dependant on grizedale i may have a look at some tarmac next year !!

"THANKS" to Pf member 'david'

well done pal - all us rally people are most grateful of the free help of fellow enthusiasts, its so much work just getting to the events prepared never mind doing chase car as well

if your coming up to grizedale this year tony were staying at the black bull all weekend - be good to see ya and catch up pal, if you can get a room anywhere theres always spare seats for a ride up for the weekend if ya like , were going late friday afternoon up to now coming back sunday

Mark if you have not ALREADY booked accomodation for Mull next year you will find it almost impossible to get anywhere its that busy and mad lol.

Catch 22 you need to book accomodation now, but you dont get a confirmed entry until 4 weeks before the event, then there are the ferrys etc to think about.

Those sump guard marks are all over the island and are one of the great attractions for the event... flat 200 over crest and jump, 40 into immediate 90 right.... one stage is 22 miles long and seems to go on forever

Will be at Grizedale as my young Navvy is doing it in a Pug and needs help lol... but your idea of staying in a pub appeals much better

Nope on the crest you set it up so it jumps from left to right, so when it lands and bounces your half way round already

Get it wrong once in 160 odd miles and this can happen

can tell you have never been

Every single corner has a place where that can happen Mark

And Yes I thought about it all the way round

Every year I take up empty boxes to bring bits of my car back home in - just in case they are needed lol.

Its fun on the recce too when the roads are open both ways and you have crews recceing in both directions Them crests aint flat then I can tell you
