Default PLEASE CORRECT THIS LETTER!

I'm a bit rusty as I haven't written anything 'official' in English in years so please bear with me...

Dear madam/Sir,

I would hereby like to ask you to exempt me from taking English as a subject of my studies SPW3 kinderopvang.

My motivation for asking you to do so is as follows:

Ever since my passing my English test as part of my MAVO-D exams (comparable with O-levels) with both a 9 for the written exam and a 9.5 for the oral exam, I have practised the English language on a daily basis.
I have lived and worked in a former English colony (Malta), where the first language is infact English, for several years and was married to a woman native to that country as well.
I shall enclose copies of my marriage-certificate, freedom of movement grant (equal to a staying permit) and a letter of reference from one of my former employers on Malta.

After returning to Holland I have stayed in contact with several people I have met in my time on Malta and met other people in England that I’m still in contact with ‘till this day, mostly by phone or e-mail and atleast once a year in person.
I will also enclose a letter of reference of a journalist that writes for two of England’s best selling motoringmagazines that I have known for several years now and I’m in regular contact with.

Due to the reasons stated above I feel I have a reasonable command of the English language in both word and writing and I would very much like to ask you to grant me this request so that I may concentrate my energy and efforts on the other subjects associated with my studies as well as my apprenticeship.

Sincerely,

Hooligan

Only changed a couple of bits, but you write better English than some English regulars on here I'd even be tempted to send it as you wrote it, it's that good (for a non-English guy).

Good luck with your studies mate

Hooligan,
all the info in the letter is a blatant lie
So youve obviously grapsed the key elements of making an official letter then.
