Default HD plasma tv's??

does anyone care to explain the advantages of having a HD plasma over a 'normal' one?

the one im looking at is the panasonic viera and the HD is quite a bit more expensive but dont know if its worth the extra££££.

swerv ,

you wont get any advantage until next spring when sky launch hd broadcasts.

a . unless you get a dish and box for sat1080i (hd broadcast ex europe)
b. you get media centre computer to run hd material
c. you buy a scaler to upscale your dvd signal to hd spec

imagine the best picture youve seen from dvd and multiply by at least two.

ty/dvd runs on 525 scan lines, hd is min720 up to 1080.

almost 3d style

dont buy a flat screen/projector with out hd ready.like buying bread tonite to eat tomorrow when you can get fresh stuff am....

I have had my HD ready Plasma 3 weeks now and still totally loving it.

I can highly reccommend the Pioneer PDP43XDE instead of the Panasonic. Its almost the same price, performs just as well, looks better IMHO and is a 43inch not a 42inch. AND you get 2 free return flights to Newyork or Boston if you get one now

The Panasonic is also VERY VERY good though. I looked at that one as well
