Default Terroists joke right or wrong?

With what i have seen today on here Gus's outburst was pretty tame

Maybe the people joking about it should be on the end of a terroists attack to wake them up to reality and out of there "i am safe and untouchable" attitude...IMO its the lowest form of wit...but then i am a minority obviously...Ashamed of PF recently. .....

"Only the good die young"

Never a truer sentance spoken

Well to be honest most of them are Untouchable. As they live outside the M25. Maybe if it was on their doorstep they would behave differently.

But then you're bound to get people saying need to joke about it, otherwise they terrorists win. Which as Ive said before is just a naive attitude.

Most of it is done for shock value though. Imagine Johnny Vegas saying "Im a right fat c*nt!" People laugh, but not because its funny...

Still you gotta smile and get on with life.

If i died on one of those busses i would still want people to take the piss out of it.
I'm on the tubes and in and out of london occasionally with work so am nowhere near "untouchable" but i still would sooner laugh at it than just walk around in fear the whole time.

I think the british ability to laugh in the face of a genuine threat is a great character treat and is one of the few things that still makes me feel patriotic.

Thats certainly not the case, cause ive definately not had a sheltered life and yet i still am capable of not letting these bastards take away my sense of humour.

you're far too quick to judge everyone Phil, everyone needs to be the same as you or you cant accept it, sounds like YOU are the one who has had a sheltered life mate!

If you were alive in the 2nd world war you would have either had a nervous breakdown or become an alcoholic then mate, cause laughing was the only way most of them could deal with it, hence all the war songs are so humerous.

Good brave men died with their sense of humour still in tact, im not going to give mine up just cause you tell me to!

My great uncle was one of very few british troops to survive Arnem (watch the film a bridge to far if you dont know what im on about!), and my father saw many of his friends shot dead in egypt, both of them still have a sense of humour about such things, so i dont see why i cant.

NOT TRUE

Ive been very close to several people who have died recently, and like most people have had relatives i care about die at one point or another during my life.

Death is something that comes to us all mate, id much sooner laugh about it than live in fear of it!

Why's that? A family member of mine died of aids yet I still laugh at aids jokes. Does that make me a bad person?

Overall I think that sick/shock value jokes are distasteful but have to admit that I have laughed at certain ones (not latest stuff so much but other incidents) but the top and bottom of it is that we live in a society with freedom of speech and even though I don't agree with what someone says I would be prepared to take up arms for their right to say it.

Funny how all the assumptions Phil makes about us are actually completely incorrect, not one thing he said MUST be true about anyone laughing at such jokes actually applies to me in the slightest!
