Default I had my first blue light shout today!

Woooooah, well chuffed, I did my EFAD (Emergency Fire Appliance Driver) course 5 months ago, but never done a drive under "blues" (only in training anyway)until today, it's become a bit of a joke at work that whenever I'm "Pump Driver" we never get a shout, until today, it came over the radio that we had an RTA to attend, and I was Driver, well chuffed, soooooo excited I forgot to turn on the sirens, but here's the best bit, the RTA was 200 metres from the Fire station, and it was an empty road with no one to overtake, pretty much a let down really, a good shout though with a good ending, but if I've gotta wait another 5 months I aint gonna be happy.
It was pretty good though really, those 200metres I did drive was mega!Better than any rally or track day.
Love it!!!
Andy

Nice one Andy

Full respest to you guys

When I was in the forces (as a driver) I was trained on Ambulance blue light shouts. My first shout was only 2 weeks later, which was about 13 miles from the base to Bath Hospital, with a suspect heart attack. It was the best adrenalin rush I have ever had! I didnt get another one for the next 3 years as I was never on call for it at the time

I think its mad that you have to stick to the speed limits, ie if you get caught its up to the judges discretion Is it still the same nowadays?

Ian.

about 13 tonne, and with a tonne of water, but the water gives you a pendulam effect, quite quick too, we had 6th gear taken out of the box cause they were hitting 110 mph! Brakes are awesome and never fade at all.

Ian 3 door, we have to stick to posted speed limits, although the theory is we can do 10mph over, but when we hit the national spped limit signs it's unlimited I think?
