RWD Fiestas?!?!
i belive ben from one of the ford mags started this conversion with the help of a1 rally sport. but he never got round to finishing it. and sold it to a member on her i belive. but not sure.
I started mine a few years ago and all progress stoped about 2 years ago.
In my opinion its not worth all the hassle in converting a fiesta to rwd.
Im about to start doing mine again due to all the work ive put in to it already
(plus the extra motivation as ive just got a 2.0 mondeo for the engine)

What did you start the conversion for mate? I just been on the link and liked wot i saw especially after watching a couple rallying at the weekend so i'll be watching your posts to see how it all goes.
Good man for attempting thats all i can say!

Yep, it was me who bought the old PF mag one, which had potential, but needed alot of work, and should of been done to a rust free car in the first place, I had the shell on here for 3 months for £100 then scrapped it, minus all the rwd kit.I can be done, but you gotta know alot about Mk2's as that's what running gear it would take, bear in mind you need to change the rack, fuel tank position, engine mounts, fabricate a tunnel, turret and link the rear, to name a few of the bits, if you need to know more I can tell you how to do it, but, I placed my shell ontop of 2wd cossie running gear and it looked alot easier to do, and cheaper.

and this is it with 2wd cossie running gear under it, it all fits in the right place and adjustable TCA's/comp strutts would bring the front track inline

here's the rear with cossie independant axle, better handling than an Atlas axle, but not better traction imo.

and here's under the engine bay, with a bit of cutting the cossie crossmember would fit and you could even run power steering

try an ad on rallyusedparts.com as there's often ex rally shells allready converted on there, or
do as I did, scrap that idea and buy one of these with all the hard work allready done!
Any probs contact me and I'll help where I can.

i bought my converted shell off ebay, only cost me 200 pounds and its really solid. Loads and loads of work on her but i think it'll be worth it
If you sniff around they are there to be had, mine is a mk2 and i have seen a couple of them about. Mk3s are more of a problem as the wheel base needs extending to get any sort of handling. A guy round the corner from me has a rwd mk3 with the front wheels brought forward 1 inch.
If i was you i would try and get one converted for mk2 escort running rather than cossie. Just my opinion really and i have no idea which is "better" but mk2 escorts have a lot of rally designed parts readily available.
