Default rear conversion S1

Hello peeps can any one tell me what exactly what i would need for a rear disc conversion on my S1. And as any one had the brake pipes replaced with braided right thru there car? is it worth doin or does it make the pedal feel softer?

any help would be gratefull, Andy

Personally mate i'd replace all the rear braking system with that off of a S2 as its all bigger anyhow.

I dont think theres any real gains over a rear disc converstion from the standard stuff, but i could be wrong.

I have the braided lines mate and if anything their better than the copper and certainly wont make the pedal softer, harder is the overall effect.

Not sure if it's the same but i know on a series 2 the rear end tends to enjoy overtaking the front!!!! better option is probably bigger brakes!

i may be wrong but i'm a girl and not mean to know!! anyone know if i'm right or did i just make that up!!

Sorry mate lol Seems my email notifications aint working

I bought my braided lines off of Paul Ripley on here, they were off some dog of a S1 he bought to track but ended up stripping it

I'd imagine your looking at about Ł100 or so, can't be anymore than that.

As for the front end, if you want a cheap fix put cossie 4x4 front callipers and cossie 2wd discs on fella. All is a simple bolt on process with the aid of 4x 1mm spacer washers. (as fitted to my cabbie )

Job Done

Braided lines wont be better than copper at all, but they are far easier to work with. You also wont have rust and corrosion issues.
