Default question for computer people

Since ive had my computer re-formated and totally wiped ive not been able to log into yahoo messenger, just get a box pop up saying "we were not able to connect you into Yahoo", then its got "modem users: make sure your online then try agian", LAN/Firewall users "if you know your proxy settings you can configure them here.

Thats what it says? Bare in mind my msn messenger works fine since the re-format and yahoo messenger worked fine before the re-format just not anymore.

And before anyone says, yes i do have the lastest yahoo messenger and im running winxp, thanks for any help

Yea, XP SP2's firewall can be a bitch.

You need to go to Start>Control Panel>Windows Firewall>Excpetions - then check the list of programs being aothorised by the firewall, and if Yahoo Messnger is blocked, unblock it, if it's not even showing in the list, I think you can add programs

Try that mate
