Default Done for speeding AGAIN last night!

Been stiched up a treat by the local 'Specials' (Special my arse ).

They were out in force last night as they are every Sunday because of the MK Cruise, basically the reading the copper took was NOT from my car, when I confronted him he then claimed to be standing in a different place to where he actually was.
The place he was actually standing meant he did not have visual contact with the lane I was in on the other side of the roundabout (where he claims he got the reading from) he only had visual on the other lane where another car was, but that car turned left at the roundabout, because I went straight over they pulled me instead of him.
He confirmed that the Laser gun does not read through trees and bushes, so I asked how the hell he could say he clocked my car through them then, this was when he decided to tell me and my mate he was stood in a different spot

Absolutely sod all I can do about it, if I contest it and take it to court you know i'll be in the wrong no matter what against the word of a Copper

And the other bang out of order thing is they only recently changed the speed limit on the road from 40mph down to 30mph, its a main road through the city and it has 1 small yellow sign at the beginning advising that there is a new speed limit in place, the sign is the same colour but smaller than all the event signs that have gone up for concerts at The Bowl, so locals aren't likely to pay attention to it.

They claim I was doing 52 mph in a 30 zone, the maximum I was travelling was 40mph altho im sure it was more like 35mph, which my passenger also agrees with. So yes I was breaking the 'new' limit that I wasnt aware of, but they are claiming I was going much faster than I was.

Tossers, really topped off what was already a really shitty weekend

Id contest it personally, i had a special try and do me for 80mp in a 30mph limit, and i thought it and got them to drop it, on the basis that the notes in his pocket book conflicted with the account he submitted to the court (the idiot let me read the page in his pocket book later on that evening when he stopped me as he didnt manage to stop me at the time of the "offence")

Dispute it. You might as chip said, highlight the flaw in his story.
You never know if he's been pulled up for it before.
Good luck!

Problem is, if I contest it and it doesn't go my way i'll end up with more than just 3 points.

Ive got a 7 day wonder too, so when I go to do that I think i'll ask to speak to someone but im not holding out much hope of it getting me anywhere.

The other thing is that there is no signs anywhere on that stretch of road to warn you about speed cameras. I always thought there had to be a sign within 200 yards or metres of the spot they choose to use? I did mention this to the copper but he said that is not the case on a 30 road. Anyone else know if this is true?

There doesn't have to be a permanent sign for a temporary camera! That would be a bit silly!

You don't have to have any indicator if they caught you on a gun either.........

Sorry to hear that though - maybe you should slow down

That may well be the case, 52 in a 30 limit would justiy 5 points in a court of law probably.

Sorry Clare but lol @ anyone finding a speeding camera in MK
In 8 years of living here i have seen 3 mobile ones and you know we have next to no static ones! Maybe you should be extra careful if going up the town on the chav cruise night as the gestapo are bound to be out coining in a bit of extra dosh for the government

This is the thing that worries me about being on the road in the cossie, the police don't ever seem to stop Not like we don't spend enough money staying on the road as it is!

Again though Clare? Have you been done recently? How many points you looking at in total?

Sorry BTW

Cola maybe its a 'bird in an RS' thing as i have only ever been done for speeding once in 19 years of driving mainly performance cars of one sort or another

Cheers Cola, no I havn't been done recently but I have only just had to stop declaring 3 points from 5 years ago, and my 6 point conviction has only just gone past 3 years, so altho they aren't officially on my licence I still have to declare, so that is gonna make 9 points in total I have to declare

Just as well I didnt buy the cossie I was looking at last week eh

Come to think of it maybe its a 'drive in stupid high heels' thing! That could be the reason or at least a good excuse why you women can't obey the speed limits
Ditto for Westy as well as i hear he likes his stilleto's at the weekend

i know its a bit different but my brother and his mate both had mopeds when 16 and they both got caught racing by a copper on his own in a 30 he said they were doing 55mph in a 30 over the average distance now he pulled out of a side road less than the average distance before a busy set of lights and pulled them over they both got producer and court summons through the door but half the details where incorrect on the producers they received so my brother got off his mate got 3 points and a fine

Basically if the copper cant fill out a standard form competently then how can he do you for speeding a good lawyer would have a field day from what you have said so id deffo go to court

Get the right court on the right day with incorrect details and you'll walk away scott free, but go in on the wrong day and you'll end up with as many points as you have fingers...hit or miss really.
I'd probably chance it just on principle....but I can understand why people would rather take the 3 points, rather than 5.
