i get on average 260 to 280 miles from a tank on the work run, and on a long continuous run, it'll see about 340 to 360 miles for 1 tank

803 dark greens, 22psi and plenty of abuse

I just saw 170 miles out of a full tank on greens.

but around 80 miles was a steady 70-80 mph all the way.

Need to get my runaround around fixed asap!

I never thought I'd say this, but I miss my cossie - I used to get 2560 miles out of a tank on greens (road use).

I get about 130 out of the MR2

This is one of my pet hates - so many miles to a tank...

There are so many things that can be different - how much was left in the tank when you filled it up? It will never be the same as how much was in there when someone else filled it up - you can't compare!

Here's what you do:

fill the car up until the pump clicks off.
Reset the clock
Drive round until you've used as much fuel as you want to
Fill up again, until it clicks off. Write down how much fuel you've just put in.

work out how many miles per gallon you've done - this you can compare.

miles done divided by no of litres used, then multiply by 4.54

I get about 20mpg round town, and 30-35 on a motorway run.

sapph 4x4 stage 3

Drove back from Stus's (MSD) place last week to aberdeen (300 miles).
Used a full tank exactly and would say my average speed was 90/95 mph so was pleased with that

Adam,
Get her on a CO machine to analyse the emissions, expect <1.5% but nominally around 0.4.
All my P8 software is closed loop and i would hazzard a guess that your lambda sensor is outputting a constant lean trigger voltage and she is running around 10% at all times.

If this is teh case, you will need to perform a P8 reset after the sensor is renewed, you may be best to call me for details on how to do this.

Most P8 owners on 803s T34 report around 25 - 30mpg taking it easy with my software, you have a definate fault there unless your tanks are all used at silverstone...roflol

Not a Cossie I know but it scares me how quick the fuel guage drops when driving hard. It's like it's connected to rev counter. As one rises the other drops

When cruising, a well mapped engine will consume 15 x more air than fuel

When going hard, this drops to around 11x more air than fuel.

Most of your horsepower comes from the consumption of oxygen, not fuel, in a laymans sort of way......

Rods is obviously well mapped.. ive seen Stage 3 Escort Cossies doing less than 10mpg at 40mph in 5th, with no faults
