Default **IMPERIAL BLUE S2***finished**

been working over the last couple of weeks getting my escort back to the way it was
been off road now since january 2002 due to being hit up the backend by a boy racer and i was going to strip it and sell the bits but after takin it apart i found very little to be wrong to my suprise
so decided to part restore it
started rippin it apart as it had been lying for over 2 year untouched
so was expectin the worst
basically just needed back panel,2 panels on boot floor, welded at drivers side footwell, tailgate and back bumper, got a new front panel while i was there as it was goin behind where bumper bolts on,but painter just used bottom half as he wasn't want to touch the wings if necessary

how it used to look

pics after strippin everythin off it

ill get more pics once i upload them

couple of pics when it was gettin painted not got much and there took on camera phone
the idea was to try and match the back end up but the paint was slightly different shadin so ended doin full car
got my bonnet and 90 spec front bumper still to get painted as he's on holiday and the bonnet needs pins put in it and bumper needs a good bit out of it to help airflow to i/c

Wow. It's been years since I've seen your car m8. Last time I saw it I had MY 2nd S2. And that was a long time ago!

Glad you're putting it back together. Did you ever get any ŁŁŁ from the Strathycrooze tit that drove into you?

took all the back end off to get ready to be bushed up(deflex)
had a bit of trouble with the inner wishbone bush due to gettin wrong one sent but deflex replaced it
gave everythin a paint while it was off,not to be a bufty just to freshen it up
will be undersealed at a later date

new rear anti roll bar shackles as when i took mine off the rubber bush was burst

new track rod ends and arms

anti roll bar bushed up

cage in

cage and seats in,had 2 sets of seats late spec and early, for some reason i like the early spec so decided to put that back in

was already on car when i bought it and its been bonded on
i asked to get it removed when it was gettin painted but they said its not really advisable as its drilled on with small allen bolts too,
not my cup of tea either but i'll just need to live with it
maybe get it done at another stage, just want it on road asap to get some fun with it this summer, and as you well know scottish summer arent very long, when and if they come

lee reynolds i know what you mean mate,i think its just too much in your face,it wasn't as bad when it had the chrome bumper stripes on it sort of took your eye away from it but ive had bumper painted and im puttin black stripes back in
think i might just get it painted black when it goes back for the bonnet and 90 spec bumper painted, great idea why didn't i think of that what about painting it imp blue?
cheers mate

rab ive got a set of diamond cut rs 7 spokes to go on but im gonna keep the speedlines for trackdays, crail etc as the mondeo si' ones are a bit to close to caliper for my liking
