6 paddle clutch failure 4x4? Update!
Last night changing from 2nd to third i lost all gears and the car wont drive atall,it has an Alcon clutch.
What usually happens to them, will it need a new plate?
Cheers for any comments.
Update..
Got the box out and the clutch was worn, the front diff was also finished so a new one went in,the viscous coupling was also a gonner which i was told made it lose drive along with the diff.
So all new parts assembled ect and the box went back in with the relined 6 paddle.
Guess what? It still has no drive, the box is now back out and apparently a pin may have snapped for the selector .Hopefully it'll be on the road tommorow.
To be fair i have done 20 standing start with it and recorded 9sec to 100.
i'll never launch it again it just seems pointless after all that work.

Thanks for the replys.
It was on a 400bhp saff 4x4,the box is standard rebuilt 6k miles ago and the clutch was put in at the same time.
It wasnt making any noises or whines, the only prob was that it sometimes wouldn go in to gear at the lights.
