hi all, bit of a newbie, my friend has just purchased a Mk2 Escort Rs with 45000 origanal miles on it in mint condition as you could probably apreciate he wants to show the car in concoures shows.... the car is compleetly satandared now question is....... is it best to replace the header tank, rocker cover and turbo cross over pipe with standard ford parts or get uprated ones... also any sugestions as to where to get these parts from??????

If he wants to show it as a mint standard one (something LOTS of people would enjoy im sure) then he needs original bits not uprated ones like alloy tanks etc.

doesnt sound like a very original mk2 to me!

Is this an Escort RS Turbo? If so I think you mean Mk4 not Mk2

 

Oh, if its a series 2 not a mk2 then best thing might be to banger race it, no one is insterested in them anyway!

I never spotted the price tho
But suppose that's not too bad for the mileage as long as it's been looked after...which it looks to have been from the little you can tell from the pics

 

I would want every MOT certificate from new and full service history to verify the milage though, not just look at whats recorded on the dash.

 

huge a4 folder of recipts, mots, services ect owned from new by some old boy... what do u think? and any places to get the parts mentioned?
