Blinking cossies!!!!
Just about had a guts full of them
I hardly ever boot my car, i mainly cruise around and just have fun etc. If i do boot the car i make sure its warmed up etc etc. Anyway COming home from club tonight actualy give it some stick like it was meant for playing with one of the boys from club, about 6k in 2nd or 3rd the car dies!!! Its died all of a sudden no power nothing!
Tried to start the car and nothing totally 100% dead, it turns over but fails to fire up. There was no smoke, oil or fook all from the engine. THe motor turns over fine etc.
Any way got it home with a help from Spiky so a BIG THANKS goes to that man
Cheers mate really is appreciated
Car is in the garage, plugs out & fine! Upon turning the car over however noticed a spark from the dizy was arching out! Now i pushed the dizz cap to see if it was on tight, it kinda was but poped of. Upon taking the cap off i noticed the rotar arm had snaped the bit inside it so its just spining around. Now im not sure if i broke it by poping the dizzy cap of or not
THe arching of the the block makes me think it must have been broke! but before i toke the cap of i plug the sparkplug into No1 lead and upon cranking it still had a spark
What do you think the verdict is?
I hope its just the arm! If its something serious with the engine im going to brake the fucker as had a guts full of all this shit, as its not like i abuse the car

Check that the Phase Sensor hasn't moved, or even come loose at the bottom of the crank pulley. Especially bearing in mind that the engines relatively new. Maybe.......someone didn't tighten up the two securing nuts properly and it's moved away from the crank pulley and ain't registering the pulley pegs

Make sure you replace the rotor arm with a genuine ford one - my car used to eat motor factor arms every 6 weeks, leaving me stranded
Then I parted with the Ł11 for a genuine one and it's been in there for nearly 4 years now!
Neil.

So it can be quite common for the rotar arms to snap?
?
will pop to Ford later to see if they got them in stock! I Hope it is just that which has snaped. Even though it broke and spins freely on the dizzy would u get some kind of spark to the plugs?

Tony, Sounds like i fitted it wrong, as the centre bit of the dizzy cap has been munched away
Will see if one of the lads will fit it for me to make sure its 100% correct as want a 2nd opinion this time

might be telling you how to suck eggs here but the cap will only fit properly in one location, there is a tab on the inside edge which locates in a notch on the actual dizzy, turn the cap round until it cliack into position, then clip the 2 spring retaining clips on, you usually have to undos the cam belt cover t get your hand round to the bck on, unles you have girls hands in which case they may fit inbetween the cover and dizzy to reach the back clip...
