Firstly.. the NEW starter motor that ford have bought out for the RST sounds the danglies

Now, Im not sure if I have a heatshield for the starter I think it may have come off at some point...

There is a shield by the alternator, but assume its not this..

Does anyone have a FINIS code for the heatshield please?? or a pic or something

 

Don;t have the Finis - but i dont think that the heat shield fits on the new type - and i dont think u need it. How much was the starter?

 

The starter is smaller is size, comparing it to my old one..

The starter was 112 plus VAT..

I got it for 63 quid

How is the heatshield positioned?? What makes you say it will no longer fit?

Any idea on how much a shield is?? temptied to just make one up

 

Just get loads of exhaust wrap to go from the turbo all the way past the gearbox.

 

with the new starter on, its fine..

But for piece of mind, If they are meant to have a shield, then cant do any harm by putting one on can it

If not, maybe some wrap like you say mate
