the previous owner of my car (4x4 sapph) fitted one of those piper x breathers (you know-the little round one stuffed with strips of metal?) onto the end of the pipe that emerges at the front of the fuel rail.only problem is, it gobs oil all over the front of the engine!!!! why, why, why would he do this!!?? lol. anyone got a picture of what a standard breather system should look like?or any suggestions of a short term soloution until a proper system can be purchased?any help gretly appreciated!!cheers in advance.over and trout.

it shouldn't really chuck lots of oil out or there, i have the same thing on mine & it only leaks a bit if its overfilled with oil.
what kind of power is your car, as lots of oil coming from there could mean you have excess crank pressure, hence worn rings etc.....

basically there's a pipe that joins the end where the meshy thing is and goes across the front of the engine bay and joins the standard airbox, if your car is fitted with a performance filter that's probably why they put that thingy on.

here's my saph, mine had one also see where's been blanked off on the airbox

my 3dr with the standard hose going to the airbox.

if you revert it back to standard the oil will go in the airbox, end up getting back into the engine & cause more smoke.
run some more pipe of the bit at the front of the engine & route it to the lower rear part of the engine bay.
