Default Laptop bost - ideas please

ok ive got 2 vaio's on a bit older than the other, the newer one just shut itself off but power still there

ive narrowed it down to motherboard i think, what am i looking at for a replacement jobbie (can fit myself)

notepads are fiddley but u undo the screws on the keypad, then pop it up, now u should see the processors and fan, there are more screws to undo the mother board. then unplug ll the cables and it should pop out!

Before u start taking apart. Take out the battery and the mains power. Hold down the power button for ten seconds. Then see if that helps.

if its a sony u fooked
i have to send them to france jsut to be looked at

then parts cost a mint

you will be well lucky to find a system board with the same model number of yours (note all same model laptops DID NOT allwayscome with the same system board)

its a right fooked

im in I.T .myself, so yes its already stripped and it IS the motherbaord.

not bothered if exact model, as long as its better and it fits

2.6gig would be nice

then you allready know that nothing other than the exact model of the board that was in there will fit wit hthe rest of your bits

sorry to say it mate if its the system board (there not called motherbords in laptops ) then i would scrap it and buy a new one

nah just get a 3 gig "system board" should be same chassis

yellow pages way 2 go then?

i take these apart all day

i can assure you nothing apart from the board designed will fit

they are not universal each chassis model is different for each laptop

for the record, it was the processor that had gone down

overheated.

next question: what speed processor will my system board take? a 1.5 is in at the mo, wouldnt mind trying a 1.8
