The Reg Plate is a car that was a minker but it looks like the minker engine that was in it is long gone..

Should be an F96 on the turbo technics plate not a F73 (F73 denotes 225 Bhp)

Dear oh dear, one look at the picture of the engine shows its not a minker spec conversion if your lucky its a 280bhp conversion, but more than likley a 225bhp conversion. I feel sorry for the people bidding . You can't always take what the plate says at face value like all modded cars some get upped power vise at a later date.

 

as others have said... the reg is indeed a minker reg (according to nik's site, n i know he researched this a LOT)

the engine does however look like a normal TT lump... biggest giveaway are the 2 extra injectors on the throttle body... the minker used only 6 injectors and different management.

the intercooler is also a boggo std TT225 cooler...

and a minker wont do 175mph

a minker should easily make mincemeat out of a cosworth tho... 320bhp and 330lb/ft @ 3800rpm is not something to be taken lightly

Yup, but I believe that you only had to make 20 IIRC as they were an 'evolution' of an existing homologated model

The standard RS200 was "only" 250 BHP IIRC..........

So as Jim said, you could order from your Ford dealer a new Minker (or any of the other less powerfull TT converted Sierra's).........So the Minker the fastet/most powerfull car a Ford dealer could supply you with!

BTW the Rally Cross RS200's (in particular Martin Schanche) were running very close to 800 BHP in EVO form for the super final's (last race of the event)...AWESOME SIGHT & NOISE

Hes saying the RS200 EVO was a standard production car that you could buy direct from ford (like the minkers at the time) and it came with 600bhp and could do 0-60 in 2.1 and was timed at that (ie in the gueness book of records).

I think thats wrong. RS200EVOs were not 600bhp as std when the 20 needed for homologation were made.

The RS200 that did the 2.1 0-60 was Graham Halthaways one which was VERY VERY modified, not a std road car.

What the records class as a std production road car means its basicly road legal and BASED on a std production car, not that is IS standard. They can be modified to fuck.

So jim IS right as far as i can see, the Minker is the fastest accelerating car you could ever buy direct from a ford showroom.
