I paid Ł600 for new strengthend turrets to be fabricated, welded in place triangulated & strengthened between both struts.

@ radders....

and you all know the answer, but for winston... we do a ....

no someone tell him so it dosn't become a sales pitch please.

But if your looking for just welding work (as in seam welding etc) then some places will do it for a brew and biscuits and others will charge you well in excess of Ł200 plus paint etc

Add this little lot onto the price of your coilovers and do the maths yourself

Who's coilovers are you getting ? What are you using the car for ? What is the rest of the spec/condition etc etc etc ?

What do the manufacturers of the coilovers say have you contacted them ?

Sorry if its all confusing Micky...

Okay MEFmotorsport (found in the traders section) do a set of rear coilovers for the Mk3/4 Escort that require NO mods to the turrets. We can say that as the strengthening required has been built into the individual components through design and material selection. Others state that turret mods are required, to what extent these mods need to take is anyones guess.

Obviously again common sense prevails - if you have coilover struts then dont go overloading the rear of the car with passengers or heavy items in the boot etc.
