Default My orange s1 cabriolet project (update 03/06/08)

Hello all of ya, I'm new her at this forum and I tought I show your my project..

I'm busy with building a s1 rst cabrio "replica".. Now I am busy for a month of 8 with the car.. @ first I only want to get an s2 motor in the car but when you're busy with it you better can do everything

This was the car when I started...

The interior..

The engine..

And this was the donor car where I get the engine from, and for a while also the interior.. (I maybe have found a interior from a s1 rst but it isn't sure it become's mine.. )

The engine I almost stripped completely except of te piston rings and the crank shaft... Here some pics of the rebuilding from the engine which I cleaned and painted..

Yes, the car is gonna be orange

The underside of the engine...

And here the almost finished engine bay, (btw, engine runs properly )

Found some rust also...

Rust gone...

And here the car how it looks now with the s1 bodykit taped to the car Looks good don't it?

Grtz Victor.

This is the interior that was in just before I stripped the whole car.. The S2 interior from the turbo.. (the doorpanels I've retrimmed with some new skai, I've already got some mk3 door panels with s2 striping...) But I'm searching for an S1 interior and a good mk3 dashboard (the mk4 dash is tempory..)

looks better?

Grtz Victor.

@ the moment the engine is just a standard RS Turbo s2 engine, but in the near futher I want to chip the car, a -31 actuator, a rvs scorpion exhaust and another camshaft kit from kent.. Now I'm going from 69 hp to 132 hp so that's fun enough for a week or 2

Yes, finally some progress with the convertible.. After I've had found some more rust the cabby is finally painted in the primer There is still some welding to do but I couldn't wait to paint de other things te see some progress... Next week the new left front screen is coming on Then I'll only have to paint the interior and boot in color and the car can go to the painter, so he can do the outside

Here are some pictures of the progress...
