4x4 oil pan leak? ?
looking at my 4x4 scorpio in the storage lot (awaiting a replacement transferbox), there is s decent size puddle of oil under the car. I had inspected this leak before and it comes from the shaft that goes thru the oilpan. it is just wedged into the pan, I am not sure why it is leaking though. can I just clean it out good and force some sealant in there? or is there another way to fix this?
Also, curious if the drivers (german car) side driveshaft should lock into the oil pan shaft? This actually may be why it is leaking now, The passenger (german car) side seamed to have actually locked in. Basically I kept on trying to slam the drivers side in to get it to lock and it never did. so I just installed it the way it was.
P.S. the seals on the pan and the diff's were all replaced.
thanks yall,
TF
