Cosworth recently were advertising 2wd ones at around £750+vat (bare without valves, but with guides) 4wd are around the £1500 mark..

Why are the so expensive then ? Are there special metals involved or machining processes or is it because the Cosworth name seems to add lots of zeros on the price of everything

I'd imagine a lot is down to volume of manufacture - after the initial production run, subsequent batches would be relatively small and hence costly..

Graham Goode's recently had the small turbo head for about £500 + VAT, don't know if this helps (or if they still have any)
