Default XR3 Escort Zetec Conversion

Hi, Im from Australia, and I have an XR3carby South African build with 5speed and want to install a Focus black top Zetec. The last Escort we got here was the Mk2.
We have the Mondeo series 1,2,KA, Focus and current Fiesta.
I need some detailed information of what to exactly do.
At the moment I was thinking of using the standard fuel injection with an aftermarket ECU, or getting from England a Escort Zetec EFI setup.
I know the engine will bolt straight to the gearbox and modify one engine mount. Flywheel I can use the CVH with a sensor off the front pulley, but would prefer to use the Escort Zetec with crank sensor.
What do I need to do to fit the starter motor?(something to do with removing some webbing).
Then throttle cable and other things I need to do etc.

My diff is a little noisy, I want to know, can I fit an IB5 gearbox from a KA or a MTX-75 from a mondeo or focus. Or is it better to source a gearbox and limited slip diff from a turbo escort and which version is the best.
If some one could help me out that would be greatly appreciated.
Then eventually I will need some help with the suspension, brakes etc.
regards
David

G'day from pomme land mate!!

Have a look at www.escortupgrades.co.uk and click on the picture of the red cabbie and then "engine" in the left hand menu.

The fella that runs that site is called Smiler and he has done a full step by step guide to fitting a zetec lump into a mk3 bay.

You should find it all an interesting read
