Default 8x17s on a S1??????????

Is this totally impossible? would it drive like shit lol.
I suspect it would but thought I would ask.

Wasnt gonna put 17s on but now ive read that 6 spoke mo's are gonna be available in 17s and they would look the bollox
The car will be running coilovers if that would help, the arches would need to be trimmed I spose?
What ya think, yes they will go or no they wont?

Makes the handling shite ?

16's on an RST appear to be best for handling

Looks a bit high ? is that to clear the wheels?

personally i think you'd be very lucky! i've got koni adj's stiffened as hard as they can go and 215/40zr17 tyres on my S2 and they catch like hell going fast round corners! so god only knows what 8x17's would be like?
but you never know?
If you've got the money... try it!

I'd say it's because theres no engine or running gear in....

15-16's are the way to go handling wise

16's are for poofs. get em on. so what if you do need to trim arch's. get a focus offset an the arch's will just need a minor trim.

Yes Benn they will fit! the arches dont need trimmed! The handeling is fine!

Steering isnt to heavy! I'm running 8x17's with an ET40 offset.

Ive seen an S1 with exactly the same setup as described above and he had no complaints either.

I'd go 16's and may well be dropping my 17's for a set. I get no scrubbing issues as such but the handling is just too compromised

Thought you had to trim the arches on S1 for 17's even if there only 7" wide
