Default Clutches - Helix or AP

Has anyone got any experience with Helix clutch plates? I'm looking at either getting one of these or an AP unit - both 4 paddle - although I can get an orgasmic....sorry organic one also but they arent as highly rated.

I've had a 4 paddle AP before & found them a right CNUT to get into gear when brand new until they bed in properly.!!!

What kind of power/torque are you running - how long has it lasted - 4 paddle is it - what car is it on??? Did you use a standard cover or uprated one???

I was well pleased with my Alcon Six paddle till last week. Its fooked up after jsut 5 months of rd use. A bit of metal that held one of the springs in has broken away and fooked it. Im not a happy bunny as i spent the extra for this rather than going organic to save my self hassel in the future. Im hoping to get a refund or a new clutch off them as it blatently takes the piss as my car is running no more than 170bhp at the mo

how much power you running? I've had 3 AP organic ones on 2 RS turbos now.. one over 250bhp, one 200 odd and no complaints whatsoever.. just make sure you get the correct organic clutch not the cheapest!!!

yea it gave good pedal feel and didnt slip once i really did love it. Just the foooking thing fell apart that let it down

Im hoping there gonna replace it cause its blatently a manfacturing fault of some sort. Just piss's me off cause its the hottest days and i cant cruise around in me motor. Think im just gonna buy a shitty 50 quid clutch to get me going this weekend

thats why i stayed away from alcon cant handle big power i use to run an ap four paddle which i had in for 25000 miles , nothing wrong when i changed just wanted to put a new one in, second ap lasted 4000 miles which was down to me not adjusting it right so burned out the pressure plate.i now run a helix four paddle which i brought direct from helix no problems through normal use plus drag racing but slips like mad when i use nitrous
