Default Burton B5 Quick shifts

Am i right in thinking that is a new Ford gear linkage with an alloy spacer underneath?
I have one in my car and I'm no liking, can I just remove the spacer?
Thanks for any advise
Paul

I think you'll be better off taking the complete unit off and refitting a standard one. That way you can sell on the Burton unit as a whole, plus its a load less hassle as the unit os full of springs and shims which are a mare to assemble/dissasemble.

Yeah forgot about that! I'll do that

Reason I don't like quick shifts is the fact they are easy to miss gears, where as a normal linkage will select the gear everytime and when I'm doing quarter miles competativly I do not need to miss gears! To me its a gimick I don't need as I can shift like beaut when the red mist takes over
