Default How much is a Gartrac MK3 Escort worth?

Standard car with all parts original. Running with no problems or missing anything. This is the wide arch alloy wing type!

Whats the rough price for these cars? Whats it worth?

How hard to convert to Rwd Yb or 4x4?

Thanks in advance

Edited cos i spelt Gartrac wrong

Totally depends on the spec and condition.

Seen them at silly low prices or stupidly overpriced too (rally versions)

Is it Gartrac as there are a few rallyfab ones about too

Adjustable what dude?

The shell is ok for a 20year old motor i spose. Needs a restore to make it 100% tho..

What would it be worth as a mint std motor? or even running a rwd cossie lump?

Dont know if it will be worth taking on for the money? It will take up room and obviously take a while to get up to mint if i restore it?? + How much money will it take..............?

I already have enough projects. But this one is kool

What you think is it worth doing?

Catch 22?

by adjustable i mean adjustable suspension! like tca, rear beams &Y shit like that!

5 link rear stuff along them sort of lines1

or is it a leaf spring baby!

It is 100% genuine! I have been given proof
Its obvious anyway as the whole car is built very well. All the trim is matched to the car around the tunnel and back seats etc..

I am happy with the owners word it is original.

I could never do that...

I would always keep the std items that come off, then if it was to be sold you would have all the std parts aswell as being whatever i turned it into.

I think that selling the items off it to buy new ones is not the way to go. IMO

Yeah would think that is the best way forward for it. But if i buy it then i will need to spend ££££££££ to get it up to spec Not just suspension etc..

Would make a great project for someone although i think its alot of work, time and money.......

Might be worth just storing untill then.

How many left now?

To put mint and right to todays requirements would (after any initial outlay) potentially cost more than its realistically worth IMHO.

Totally upto you.

I have pictures but have been asked not to show them

NUTS RuS, I think i agree with you. But would still be nice to have and to own. If it costs too much to restore it i dont think it will lose much, if any money just sitting there?

Does anyone have picture of these cars so i can compare?

Regards
Jano

guys cant compare spadges car to a ugly arched mk3 escort

the gartrac's look soo crap with them arches, they not only are sooo 80's styled they take away the suprise element

spadges ahd a silly spec and was a proper sleeper of a car

there was a gartrac at PTS a few years ago that was unfinished for sale with the pony arches and not many peoplen looked at buy it

b19bal

that one at pts, me and my mate looked at to buy.. had all the gear on it, proper suspension etc, just needed a new coat.. unfortunately we thought it was overpriced and needed abit of work, which was out of our budget..

there was a dark blue one at santa pod a few sundays back.. the classic ford event.. had a v6 lump in it.. but looked shit imo

It is genuine white Gartrac wide arch Mk3 Escort with the V6 T3 Turbo engine. Leaf springs at the rear, Fuel tank under boot with hole in back of rear panel where the number plate should be. + loads of other obvious differences. Like seats (back base) etc.. It is not in wales

I took the carpet out and checked the floors.. and is DEFFO the one that i have been given the pictures of back in the day. I have some of the build photos and work carried out by the company as they built this one!!

The work carried out on this motor is obviously done by them as the panels and fabrications done are exactly the same as the ones in the pics even the bits that have been modded slightly that could not of been done without doing it that many years ago...

I have no doubt that the car is original and genuine.

The problem is:-

Is it worth spending the money on?

Jano, alot of the gartrac Mk3 escorts all used mk2 escort stuff, hence why they have the leaf springs at the rear!! not hard to do, and loads of spares about, as parts for mk2 escorts are everywhere.

I reckon you should stop being a pussy and do it
